JOB TITLE: Procurement Specialist / Buyer
COMMUTABLE FROM: Hull, Cottingham, Willerby, Hessle, Brough, Beverly, South Cave, Hedon, Keyingham, Barton upon Humber, Bishop Burton
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
- £35,000 – £40,000 per annum
- 28 Holidays + 8 Bank Holidays + Pension + Share Scheme
COMPANY INFORMATION: My client is an Energy Solutions Provider who have come up with new innovative technology in the Renewable Energy sector. They are a rapidly expanding business who have undergone the start up phase of a new business and are now looking at the next stage of the company development with more key roles created as demand starts to ramp up further.
YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
- 5 years procurement/buying experience
- Good knowledge of the Energy, Oil & Gas industry/equipment/suppliers
- Buying experience of pipework, valves & fittings and/or electrical & controls components
- Experience of using MRP processes
- Knowledge of contract terms
- Supply Chain Management experience
ROLE INFORMATION:
We are looking an experienced Procurement Specialist adept at working in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment, gained within the private sector. Office-based working will be the norm, 5 days per week. You will be proactive with a positive ‘can do’ attitude, have gravitas and be able to manage multiple project enquiries.
Key Objectives
- Lead RFQ’s and Tenders alongside Technical and Operational colleagues to satisfy Business requirements, be compliant, competitive, clear and comprehensive.
- Execute and manage supplier contracts in accordance with guidelines to mitigate risk in cost, service, quality and schedule.
- Providing regular updates and expediting orders as required
- Evaluate and select suppliers on the basis of Capability & Capacity, utilising the company procedures for Vendor Assessment, working with technical colleagues to ensure optimum commercial, technical and delivery criteria.
- Consult Business Authorisers with balanced scoresheet evaluations, supplier quotation assessments, and key information to determine the award decision and ultimate authority to purchase.
- Advise and mentor non-Procurement personnel to achieve good understanding of procurement protocols.
- Ensuring the storing of auditable records of all procurement documents resulting in Purchase Orders and Contracts, observing Document Control protocolser week.
Main Responsibilities
- Research and identify prospective suppliers
- Liaise with internal project teams and maintaining strong supplier relations
- Evaluate products and suppliers according to key business criteria
- Prepare proposals, quotes and negotiate purchase terms and conditions
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues and concerns
- Inspect and evaluate the quality of purchased items and resolve shortcomings
- Analyse industry and demand trends and support senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies
