JOB TITLE:  Mechanical Engineer, Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

 COMMUTABLE FROM:  Hull, Cottingham, Hessle, Barton, Brigg, Brough, Beverley, Driffield, Grimsby, Howden, Hedon, Keyingham, ScunthorpeWillerby, York

 SALARY AND BENEFITS:

COMPANY INFORMATION: My client is an Energy Solutions Provider who have come up with new innovative technology in the Renewable Energy sector. They are a rapidly expanding business who have undergone the start up phase of a new business and are now looking at the next stage of the company development with more key roles created as demand starts to ramp up further.

 

YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant subject.
  • Significant previous experience of working as a Mechanical Engineer in a relevant industry.
  • Previous experience of using 3D modelling and design software.
  • Familiar with design and specification of equipment in accordance with typical design codes and governing legislation.
  • Ideally Experience in one of the following areas: solids handling systems, high temperature materials, fabrication, Finite Element Analysis, design validation, new product design.
  • Strategic thinking
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

 

 

ROLE INFORMATION:

 The postholder will be expected to design, develop and improve mechanical systems, processes, and products.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

 

Involvement and input into all mechanical aspects of the design and construction.

  1. Key member of the mechanical team supporting the development and embedding of company procedures,
  2. Work across the interface between the mechanical team and other disciplines.
  3. Design of Pressure Vessels, piping and components.
  4. Producing design calculations, materials selections, drawings, Bill of Materials, and equipment specifications in line with the applicable codes and standards.
  5. Mechanical input to design changes and implemented changes within the field as part of a management of change process.
  6. Support the development of the technical files, covering the design, supply, assembly and test requirements for a certified production unit.
  7. Establishing and maintaining relationships with fabricators and vendors, including vendor audits.
  1. Integrate with suppliers to source materials that meet design, cost and timescale requirements.
