Logistics and Despatch Manager, Logistics Manager

Based in East Yorkshire – Commutable from Beverley, Bridlington, Brigg, Barton, Cottingham, Driffield, Hedon, Hessle, Hornsea, Hull, Preston, Willerby.

Company

My client is a leading food manufacturing company with sites across the UK. The company are going through significant growth at present as demand increases, they need to appoint a logistics specialist to help improve systems and processes across the warehouse and logistics function.

You must have the following:

  • Must have previous experience working at a mgt level within Logistics, Supply Chain or Warehousing.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be results focussed.
  • Must be able to inspire, motivate and lead others.
  • Must have experience of delivering improvements and implementing new systems or processes across the logistics/warehouse function.
  • Must have experience of Food or FMCG

Role:

This will be a Monday to Friday days role reporting direct to the General Manager. It is a newly created role and you will be responsible for leading a team of 15 people.

The Despatch and Logistics Manager will be responsible to manage the despatch of finished product, and the receipt of chilled goods, and best practice whilst ensuring delivery on time and in full to the customers whilst always striving to consistently improve the quality, departmental throughput and performance.

 

The main duties would include:

  • Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services
  • Optimising and improving full order cycle
  • Manage, control and keep track via a functional reporting structure of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs, labour costs and efficiency
  • Control of hire costs and systems for CHEP, dolvas, trays and other items
  • Any other reasonable requests made by the Directors
