Finance Manager

Based in East Yorkshire – Commutable from Beverley, Bridlington, Brigg, Barton, Cottingham, Driffield, Hedon, Hessle, Hornsea, Hull, Grimsby, Preston, Scunthorpe, Willerby.

My client is a leading food manufacturing company with sites across the UK. The company are going through significant growth at present as demand increases. They are looking to recruit a Finance Manager to join one of their established sites.

You must have the following:

  • Previous experience of FMCG manufacturing (preferably food)
  • Excellent level of attendance and timekeeping
  • Proven track record of leading teams
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to interact with colleagues, Management and customers
  • Mathematical and analytical skills
  • Advanced problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)



The key elements of the role are to assume responsibility for:


  • To prepare accurate weekly accounts with commentary to explain performance of the business
  • To develop yield reporting to increase understanding of performance and help identify opportunities
  • To prepare accurate monthly management accounts
  • Effectively manage the finance ledger team, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and on a timely basis
  • Preparation of the monthly site VAT and National Statistics returns and submissions
  • Forecast the future performance and capital expenditure requirements of the business{title}
  • Manage the site costing model, working with the commercial and operational team
  • Understand the business, challenge costs and look for efficiencies
  • Work closely with the Divisional Financial Controller and other members of the wider senior management team and to identify and discuss issues with them on a timely basis
  • Assist in the development of the wider on-site team, including coaching, mentoring and appropriate delegation of work, and educating on the importance of tasks effecting financial reporting
  • Daily point of contact for internal and external auditors
  • To provide support to finance team including holiday cover where appropriate
