Based in East Yorkshire – Commutable from Barton, Beverley, Bridlington, Brigg, Cottingham, Driffield, Hedon, Hessle, Hornsea ,Howden, Hull, Grimsby, Leven, Preston, Scunthorpe, Willerby.

 

Salary and Benefits

£60,000-£65,000 + 10% Bonus + Contributory Pension up to 10% +26 days holiday plus BH + Personal Medical Insurance

Company

My client is a leading specialist food process manufacturing company who are looking to recruit an Experienced Engineering Manager to lead and develop a team of 9 Engineers. The company are part of a huge multinational group with sites across the globe. The site is currently undergoing a huge multi-million-pound expansion project which will result in a dramatic increase in overall capacity.

You must have the following:

  • Previous experience as an Engineering Manager and leading a multi-discipline team.
  • Must have strong leadership and be able to manage and develop an Engineering team.
  • Ideally be HND or degree trained in an Engineering discipline or have other relevant Engineering qualifications with the right experience
  • Must have an excellent knowledge of Health and Safety
  • Must have previous experience of delivering major projects whether they be new lines, reorganisation or CI initiatives
  • Must have used and be confident with a CMMS System
  • Must have a real can-do attitude and be pro-active with their approach
  • Ideally have experience of Food, but other regulated FMCG backgrounds considered as well as Process and Chemical

Role Responsibilities

  • Management of the team, equipment, and operational processes in relation to applicable regulations
  • Ensure all equipment is of the correct standard and installed safely
  • Demonstrate and lead the team using safe working practices
  • Effective and safe contractor control
  • Site projects scoped out correctly and delivered safely in conjunction with the project team
  • Equipment maintained effectively in line with a PPM schedule and OEM recommendations
  • Utilise and manage CBM activities to prevent unplanned failures
  • Effective asset management
  • Report maintenance department performance statistics in the site meeting structure
  • Financial responsibility for management of the maintenance budget and CapEx project spend
  • Support and involvement in the 5 year CapEx spend requirement
  • Leadership and development of the engineering team
  • Strong cross functional ways of working across the operation and also central support functions

 

Deliverable Outcomes

 

  • Compliance with regulatory bodies in relation to H&S, Food Safety and Environmental
  • Equipment installed in line with OEM recommendations
  • Strong leadership and behaviours in relation to H&S
  • Processes in place, trained out, and audited for maintenance activities i.e. contractor control, LOTO
  • Robust PPM schedule in place and activities completed within the allocated timeslot
  • Equipment reliability delivering the Production demand plan
  • Daily, Weekly and Monthly visibility of departmental performance
  • The maintenance budget, managed in line with finance controls and budget levels
  • Strong 5 year CapEx plan in place aligned to the strategic direction of the site
  • Strong development and succession plan in place within the engineering team
  • Working very closely and engaging with the site team and central support functions
  • Projects delivered safely, OTIF and on budget
