Role Information:

As an Employment, Skills, and Social Values Co-Ordinator you will co-ordinate, provide practical and administrative support to the project teams, to ensure the successful delivery of the employment, skills, and social values contractual commitments across a range of construction projects up to £15m in value, ensuring a customer first approach by creating lasting, tangible benefits in the communities where we work.

In addition to our contractual obligations our client has developed a scheme which is committed to positively influencing employment, skills, and career opportunities within the Construction Industry. This is known as Foundations.

You will be expected to:

  • Raise awareness of career opportunities within the construction industry
  • Engage with industry to provide real life application of the curriculum topics
  • Create employment links for pupils and trainees making their first step in the industry

 

 

You will be responsible to target, deliver and evidence the benchmarks to achieve the requirements of our contractual requirements and our Foundations scheme against a number of areas which will include but will not be limited to:

  • Work experience placements
  • Construction Careers information
  • Advice and Guidance events
  • Apprenticeships
  • Traineeships
  • New Entrant Trainees
  • Local jobs
  • Formal training

 

You will establish and manage a network of external stakeholders, and community partners, including schools, colleges, community groups, charities, training providers, residents and public sector contacts to create innovative ways of delivering a social value strategy. You will develop and manage a data collating process and present information for monthly/weekly client and internal reporting, using social value metrics, client documentation and KPI’s.

You will also lead on our project-specific stakeholder engagement strategies, including occasional tenant liaison and community engagement initiatives. A flexible approach to working occasional evenings or weekends may be required, although these are expected to be minimal (estimated less than 6 per annum).

The role will help deliver/provide support throughout the pre-construction, delivery and post-delivery phase of our major framework projects or identified single projects, maximising opportunities for social value delivery for local people, businesses and communities and work winning strategies.

The role will also include the recruitment, co-ordination and reviews for apprentices.

  • Develop new and maintain existing relationships and partnerships with organisations who will assist the Company in achieving Employment and Skills and Corporate and Social Responsibility (CSR) output targets
  • Understand the output requirements at Tender Stage and work with the Pre-Construction team to deliver Employment and Skills Plans within out submissions
  • Upon contract award, work with the nominated Contracts Manager and construction team to co-ordinate and deliver the Employment and Skills Plan throughout the duration of the project
  • To act as co-ordinator between schools/colleges/organisations and site. Co-ordinate times and locations for workshops, events and site visits with all concerned
  • Collect and record all ESP/CSR monitoring sheets and submit reports to relevant organisations. Contracts/Site Managers to report these findings to Clients at progress meetings
  • Arrange/attend events and meetings to increase Company profile
  • Co-ordinate required ESP workshops with site
